Afghanistan Renewal Fund
The Afghanistan Renewal Fund is the country's first venture capital fund.
The Fund’s investors include: high net-worth private investors, the
Asian Development Bank, CDC,
the Overseas Private Investment Corporation,
and the Rebuilding Agricultural Markets
Program (RAMP) funded by the US Agency
for International Development.
The Fund will invest in small and medium sized enterprises by providing
risk capital (in the form of debt/equity) in the range of US$500,000
to US$5 million. The Fund’s investment strategy will focus on backing
quality entrepreneurs and management teams in attractive growth sectors.
The purpose of the Afghanistan Renewal Fund is to maximise returns for
investors. In so doing, the Fund will contribute to the renewal of Afghanistan’s
private sector and to the country’s reconstruction.
